After a couple months of planning and development 'Open Circle' has finally been unveiled. Open Circle is basically a collective of talented people that come together and throw out of the ordinary events. 'Bass Oasis', a collaboration between Open Circle Events & milc, is of the teams first endeavors and launches tomorrow night at 'The Warehouse' in Echo Park CA. Many of open circles past prototype parties have brought amazing people, talent, performance, music, art, dance all under one roof, and this time we have 4x the space and sound! Lighting, Visuals & Projections by Circuit5. Music from Foniks (neckbreakers|milc), Vaclav (nentech recordings), Aenima (milc), SE7EN (milc|LADN), myself Robert Muraine (milc|LADN) & not but not least my good friend Jimmy Q who showed me the ropes on spinning!

This is Dubstep

A picture began circulating in November. It should be "The Picture of the Year," or perhaps, "Picture of the Decade." It won't be. In fact, unless you obtained a copy of the U.S. paper which published it, you probably would never have seen it.

The picture is that of a 21-week-old unborn baby named Samuel Alexander Armas, who is being operated on by surgeon named Joseph Bruner. The baby was diagnosed with spina bifida and would not survive if removed from his mother's womb. Little Samuel's mother, Julie Armas, is an obstetrics nurse in Atlanta. She knew of Dr. Bruner's remarkable surgical procedure. Practicing at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, he performs these special operations while the baby is still in the womb.

During the procedure, the doctor removes the uterus via C-section and makes a small incision to operate on the baby. As Dr. Bruner completed the surgery on Samuel, the little guy reached his tiny, but fully developed hand through the incision and firmly grasped the surgeon's finger. Dr. Bruner was reported as saying that when his finger was grasped, it was the most emotional moment of his life, and that for an instant during the procedure he was just frozen, totally immobile.

The photograph captures this amazing event with perfect clarity. The editors titled the picture, "Hand of Hope." The text explaining the picture begins, "The tiny hand of 21-week-old fetus Samuel Alexander Armas emerges from the mother's uterus to grasp the finger of Dr. Joseph Bruner as if thanking the doctor for the gift of life."

Little Samuel's mother said they "wept for days" when they saw the picture. She said, "The photo reminds us pregnancy isn't about disability or an illness, it's about a little person" Samuel was born in perfect health, the operation 100 percent successful. The world needs to see this one!

Im pretty excited about our event coming up on the 1st of October called BASS OASIS!

It will be featuring all the people I personally grew up DJing around in my hood!

Aenima aka Alex is one of my best friends since elementary school! SE7EN aka Steven has been a homie and a part of milc for almost 4 years now! Foniks aka Chad, has been my neighbor for about 3 years and we been DJing and producing together a lot lately! Vaclav is another homie that I recently met through a long time friend Bryan, Vac owns a label in my hood, and is a really dope cat that spins old and new underground electronic music. My Friend Jimmy Q was one of my first inspirations as a DJ and helped me put my setup together a couple years back, and has been a close friend of mine for years now!



Not only will you hear awesome music all night, but you personally will be able to pick up chains with fire on them and swing them around until you fall. You will engage in a series of epileptic seizures from another milc affiliated friend, Circuit5, who has lighting and projection put on the level of a predator disco. We have another friend Johnny, designing the interior of our giant warehouse with random safari items so you can ride the animals. As well as having SE7EN Arcenio V & Danielle Dawn Hitting up walls and canvases all around the area. Not to mention the whole Open Circle team, who is actually making this whole event possible!

This event will also have one of the first milc booths selling milc gear inside!

Last but not least, there will be special performances by: Synth-Thesis(circus), Mr Fantastic & his new popping Duo with Popping Kian!

Make sure you get your ass there on the first.

A really cool article about an online game scientists created to help create the best 3D model of a certain enzyme that plays a big part in a virus similar to AIDS, which can eventually play a huge roll in possibly curing AIDS, the best part is some of the gamers ended up finding the best model in only a few days, something that computers haven't been able to do for years. Gaming & Science could play a huge roll in saving lives in the future!

The latest Facebook rival Google+ has finally launched it's official site to the public after a 2 1/2 month beta period, in which you had to be invited by somebody already connected to the network or sign ip for an invitation, now anybody can join and the features and accessibility are great, and try group chatting! hey there kiddies

today i feel the need to share something that is very near and dear to my heart. as we all know dubstep has spanned into this unstoppable monster with thousands of definitions that can almost turn your brain into liquid if you try and classify all sounds in a certain song. this notion is not to be underestimated in the artist i am about to introduce to you. enter: Oceania. one nick kostelew out of zelenograd moscow. i just wikipediad zelenograd and found this:

"Zelenograd was one of the most powerful centers of electronics, microelectronics and computer industry in the Soviet Union, and it still plays a similar role in modern Russia. It was developed as a reflection of the California Silicon Valley and known also as Soviet/Russian Silicon Valley."

FUCKING RUSSIANS! well friends out of this motherboard utopia comes one of the fucking freshest sounds in dubstep right now period. this man i suppose can fall under the category of "deep" dubstep, however that notion is shattered by the muti genre spanning tracks all over this kids soundcloud. his tracks straight up transcend any and all dubstep categorizations and fall into an ethereal canvas of multi colored painted sounds and changes like the hues in the sky during passing seasons.

now what can i say about this small piece of lovely. the intro is a kaliedescope of beautiful sound thats akin to innocent childhood nostalgia. layers of sonic beauty lift you up with the sofest angel wings and promptly drop back to earth probably on a sweaty festival dancefloor somewhere in eastern europe with the drop on this track. its like future jungle. those pullsing basslines that wax and wane like paper planes. yet the soft xylophone esque high end pulls your mind into a soaring fixation. needless to say, this track is ahead of its time and kicks fucking ass.

now, lets just see how deep this rabbit hole goes:

is that a fucking jackson 5 sample? my god yes. yes it is. so not only is this man a genius composer, but he fucking picked out one of the essential motown soul tracks that came from not only the jackson 5 but from the 70s in general (if you havent heard i wanna be where you are by the jackson 5 then im assuming you havent evolved into homo sapien yet) to rework into a dam groovy breakish dubstep track. and you see how the genres are just getting thrown all over the place like ike would toss tina? im sure after making this track mr oceania was also probably thinking "wheres my money?"

If you don't know what Nu Style is, it's a form of street dance in Europe, similar to the USA's HipHop dance genre, except the dance is based off freestyle not choreography.

Amazing Contortion Act - 'The Ganbaatar Sisters'

If you know anything about my personal life, you know that I have a girlfriend that just so happens to be a contortionist. For the past 7 years my girlfriend Buyana and her sister Suvda have been touring the US with a company called Cirque Dreams and have consistently been on the road playing shows and showing the world their talents. Recently the sisters have taken some time off, not to go on vacation but to train for the International Contortion Convention in Las Vegas that had just passed about 4 days ago. The Ganbaatar Sisters were chosen as the final act to perform on the last day of the convention and good thing they were, as they were the most celebrated and talked about thing that happened at ICC 2011!
