[MILC028] Indica - Dilation EP [Out Dec 9th]

milc is very proud to present Indica, straight from the Los Angeles underground! Indica is currently working directly with MASS LA and milc rocking the SO CAL scene and has been stirring up the bassmusic scene in the southern california area for the last couple of years. Rocking all vinyl sets and repping biweekly on milc's radio show on fokus.fm, we are super proud to present the rising star's debut ep: 'Dilation'.

Indica takes us on a journey through some very deep and bouncy grooves backed with that thick milcy bassline we all like! Most of the tracks are deeply influenced by dub and roots reggae, and are perfect for cooling things down during sets without losing that dance floor vibe. Definitely a release we have all been looking forward to show you all! Keep your eyes out for the Dilation EP on December 9th on your favorite digital music retailer!

[MILC022] Gutz - Big As Fuck EP Sampler (OUT JULY 14TH)

In the 22nd edition of the milc collection we present Gutz' second solo EP 'Big As Fuck', this time bringing 4 solo cuts that bring out his more aggressive side. You can expect the same degree of raw edgy sound as in the 'Love Story' EP but this time in a seriously heavy old school dubstep format. Gutz really takes things to the extreme opening up with 'This' as in reference to the short worded comments given out by amateurs on soundcloud, pointing out parts of the song they like before they cut the tune. Gutz made 4 individual sets of 36 bars completely different than one another in this beast of a tune switching up rhythms and styles to keep the average dubstep listener on their feet. 'Stompa' does just that, basically designed to stomp the face of the listener into a pulp and then reversing one back into a off beat drunk 2step shuffle, the perfect tune to mix into 'This'. 'Gorilla Dub' takes us back to that same 2step riddim layout with a monstrous gorilla bass growling back and forth through the tribal vibes, leveling things out back to the normal swing of things. Last and not least is the ugly fat bitch for all the kids...'Kidz' the grown ups take on the riddim genre, breaking all the rules and frequencies this tune does some serious damage to ones set, expect screw faces on the dance floor, and also forthcoming Wulf Remix and Gutz VIP on July 28th of the 'Kidz'.

01 - Gutz - This
02 - Gutz - Stompa
03 - Gutz - Gorilla Dub
04 - Gutz - Kidz

Make sure to pick up 'Big As Fuck' July 14th and the 'Kidz Remixes' on July 28th on all major digital retailers!

[FREEMILC003] Gutz - Without You EP (FREE DL JULY 7TH)

The 'Without You' EP was supposed to be in rotation this year on the normal milc lineup as MILC027, but due to it's style not meshing well with the other releases coming out this summer, we decided to give it out for free promotion for Gutz' forthcoming 'Big As Fuck' EP which will be out in stores July 14th! We will be giving away this 7 track EP in July 7th at http://free.milc.fm so stay posted for then!

The 'Without You' EP basically sums up Gutz' 2012-2013 experimentation into chopping breaks and synthesizing that phat old school reece sound on top of em. The EP opens up strong with one of the general favorites of the compilation: 'Reeces Pieces', a 140bpm take on reece driven jungle. Gutz takes bit's and pieces of different reece elements and has them take punches at each other through out the length of the tune. 'Jungle Riddim' follows up with a very unusual mix of a very synthy riddim bassline over a 140bpm jungle break, very effective dance floor business, both tracks 1 & 2! Without wasting anytime Gutz dips right into some old UK funky garage biz with 'Shuffle Up' followed up by the summer beach rave inspired tune: 'Without You', which will have 2 surprise remixes coming out along with the 'Kidz Remixes' EP on July 28th; be sure to look out for the unannounced early release of that 'Without You Remixes' EP, the Remixes will be by Kahlil & Wabble, not to miss, for real. To close up we threw on a similar style tune to 'Without You' which is basically a Gutz bootleg remix of Mousse T's 'Horny'. 'TS-91' takes things down a technical road with exploration into some interesting polyrhythms and harmonies, opening up for last but not least, a collab dnb tune featuring Saxadelic called 'Distance', chilling out things to finish up that roach on!

So remember this release will be out for free on July 7th on http://free.milc.fm be sure to check back!

01 - Gutz - Reeces Pieces 02 - Gutz - Jungle Riddim 03 - Gutz - TS-91 04 - Gutz - Shuffle Up 05 - Gutz - Without You 06 - Mousse T - Horny (Gutz Remix) 07 - Gutz Feat Saxadelic - Distance

[MILC021] 'Evo - Get Up' & 'Evo - Get Up (Gutz Remix)' (Out June 30th!)

The latest addition to the milc collection, the Get Up single by Evo! Evo is a 21 year old, Southern California based producer who has had his tunes sitting on the back burner with milc since day one! Get Up literally was going to be on the Ugly compilation but we felt it was a little ahead of it's time and sat on it. 2 years later I (Gutz) banged out a remix having forgotten about these golden stems, and decided to slap it on the roster just a few weeks ago! The team agreed at the milc headquarters (facebookchat) that it was solid enough to release and voila! Evo also has a forthcoming tune coming out on the 'milc DUBS' compilation that has some serious herbman vibes with flutes and shit, got it going on! Make sure to keep up with Evo and cop the Get Up single on Monday the 30th on June!

[MILC020] Joedan & Styn - Gutter EP + 2 Free Tunes !

After a short break between releases, milc is back with a multi-chart topping release: Joedan & Styn's 'Gutter EP' [MILC020]. The EP definitely lives up to it's name, 5 straight skanky-gully type riddim's by some of the finest in the genre! Not to mention one of milc's most anticipated releases of the year!

'Devious Horns' (my personal favorite from the EP) is off the hook! It bears that classic dubstep 'I don't mind hearing this in 10 years' vibe to it, the catchy horn riff in the intro leading straight into that 'hard to explain ''clean & dirty'' at the same time' type drop that makes the masses move! The same kind of vibe carries on throughout the EP, making it one of our more groovy and dancey EP's on the label. The release has already been in the top 10 bestselling dubstep charts on http://digital-tunes.net, and the top 100 on both http://beatport.com & http://junodownload.com ! You can pick up the EP now on most digital music outlets!

We are also giving away 2 tunes that were to be on the Gutter EP originally, but we decided that it was best to give something back to you all for supporting our label and artists since the beginning! So here is 'Mickey Moouse' & 'Flatwood's Monster' on our [FREEMILC002] EP that you can download here. Enjoy and thanks again for all of the support!

[MILC019] Skinzmann 'Dubplates Knives & Forks' & 'Free Ice Cream' EPs [Out on 03/03]

milc is proud to announce our next release: MILC019, the 'Dubplates Knives & Forks EP' built by none other than the UK's finest grime producer: Skinzmann! He has been working hard the past few years on his production game and has really been stepping it up with his arsenal of sick EPs on fine dubstep labels.

When we first heard MILC019 it was definitely in our opinion his best EP to date. This 5 track action packed EP will definitely rock the dance floor from beginning to end, true dubstep anthems like 'Ring d'alarm' & '12 Gauge' deliver that bass you need to move a crowd!

We are also very excited to present his 'Free Ice Cream EP' that we, milc are releasing today as a thank you and also as a precursor to the MILC019 'Dubplates Knives & Forks EP' release before it goes live on March 3rd! We hope you all enjoy the tunes, and make sure to check out @skinzmann on twitter & soundcloud.com/skinzmann.

Each of the collabs on the LP have been created with different members of AD's crew, the 'Monsters'. See the tracklist below!

AD - Hiphop Headz
AD - Crip Walk
AD - Blood Walk
AD - Evil Corpz
AD, Trom, Subfiltronik - Ill Vibe 2013
AD & Styn - The Undead
AD & Curzed - Drunk Robot
AD & Akira - Saw
AD - Hiphop Headz (Gutz Remix)

AD has also taken time to answer a few questions for milc with an in depth milc interview about the upcoming album and his history on producing and his achievements in the dubstep scene. Read the interview below!

::::THE INTERVIEW::::

What does your alias stand for, or why did you choose AD?

AD is short for my real name, Adam, when i was growing up everyone called me AD, so i figured I'd keep up tradition.

What is your real name and where are you from?

My name is Adam Sellick, I'm originally from Battersea and Wandsworth in south west London, but for the last 8 years or so I've been living in West Croydon.

When did you start to DJ and what made you want to pick it up?

I started to mix on Vinyl at around 12 years old until 15, mixing UK Garage, Jungle, Drum'n'Bass and Grime, There was a record store open right near where I lived in Wandsworth, I used to be in there everyday, it was a huge inspitation for me, I got back into mixing about 3 years ago, this time using CDJ's, and this time, dubstep was my weapon of choice.

When did you start producing and what genres, artists or inspirations have inspired you to start producing?

I started producing 2 and half years ago, the main genres I loved at the time were Hip Hop and of course Dubstep, I never thought I would get into producing, it all seemed far to complicated when I'd see people doing it, But then Curzed (monsters) pushed me forward and started to teach me Reason 5, and it was love at first sight with the program.

Did you ever play any instruments or have some kind of musical influence in your family when you were a child?

I played the guitar briefly when i was a lot younger, it was never for me though, even at the time then i was in love with electronic music and knew I wanted to DJ, My dad knows how to play the guitar, but no one in my family shares the same music interest as me.

How do you describe your music and what are some of the main influences or sounds that we can recognize in your tunes that differ from others?

I'd say my sound was very hip hop influenced, I love using pads and rhodes ect, of course there is the whole other side where i make tearout monster tracks, it's the style i'd always mix so i love it, but even in the tearout, i feel u can get a glimpse on the hip hop influence in the drums.

What platform do you use to make music ex. DAW? Plug Ins? Hardware? Software? etc. Please be specific.

I use reason 5, i enjoy making my synths on all reason has to offer, Subtractor, Thor, Malstrom ect depending on the mood.

Everybody seems to love the crisp quality of your drums and the pads you have in your tunes. Do you have any recommendations or advice for upcoming producers on how to help shape their sounds, or where to look for good drum samples?

I always make my own drums, i never use loops or anything like that, i like to add some swing always to the beat and with the pads, I use one shot hits, and play them in on a novation keyboard, it comes naturally and anyone who really appreciates it can do it for sure. As far as samples go, I've always been a fan of the infamous "vengeance" packs for my drums.

What are some of the upcoming projects you've got going?

I'm getting an album together which will be a mix of the tearout and more chilled stuff, really showing both sides of my music, it will be out later this year, also I'm always keeping busy with monsters and collabing often inside the team, I literally make music everyday so expect to hear a lot more tracks. I'm also going to start making smooth instrumental Hip Hop, and also have one or two vocalists I'm getting ready to work with.

Can you tell us a little bit about the upcoming milc EP you have coming out this summer called 'HipHop Headz'?

Well there will be 8 tracks on there, all with some sort of hip hop vibe in them, a few of the tracks on there will be "crip walk" and "blood walk" both very hip hop influenced.

We know you are part of the Monsters, how did that get started, and where you involved in any other crews or labels before?

Monsters got started one day randomly in my bedroom with Shiverz and Curzed, we came up with the idea after doing radio one day and stuck with it from there, we really wanted to push forward that underground aggy sound that was emerging, we always played under rated artists tracks and wanted to help them and the sound as a whole. I also created a team with Vylex, Hazy and Soulsearcher before monsters was created called "Sirkit". As far as lables go, most recognised would be "Kraken recordings" where i released my "a Little Sun EP" and also "LM recordings" called "Violation Ep"

Who are your top 5 DJs?

My top 5 dj's would be Shiverz, Jacko, Obey, Curzed and DJ EZ.

Who are your top 5 favorite producers?

Subfiltronik, Curzed, Akira, Kromestar and Silkie.

If you had to choose any rapper in the world to write bars for one of your tracks who it would it be?

That's a ver hard question, I'd have to answer with a choice from the Uk and USA, my UK choice would be "Frisco" and american rapper "Styles P"

Who do you think is the most underrated producer, and deserves some more spotlight?

I've been really impressed with lots of producers recently, but most impressive is a young guy named "minzo" from Holland, look out for him!

Is there any type of quick advice you would like to give to upcoming DJs?

Stick to it and don't ever give up, people appreciate hard work, dedication and most importantly, passion.

Is there any type of quick advice you would like to give to upcoming producers?

I'd give the exact same advice as i gave to DJ's.

Anything you would like to add in general that we may not have covered?

would just like to give a huge shoutout to all the fans and everyone making it possible for monsters and myself to grow, We all appreciate it more than you could all know! biggest shoutout to all my Monsters family and all my friends! Expect a lot more to come from us!
